“For many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14)
The Post-Novices (Simple-professed Brothers) of the Custody of Malaysia-Singapore just renewed their vows on the 17th May, 2022 at St. Pio’s Friary, Ulu Tiram, Johor.
This great occasion was witnessed by Br. Gilbert James, OFM Cap., Br. Joe Matthews OFM Cap., benefactors and some close friends of St. Pio Fraternity.
From 10th to 14th of May, these brothers, namely Bro. Noel Damsus, OFM Cap (Keningau), Br. Randall Lee, OFM Cap (Keningau), Br. Cornelsteve Dominic, OFM Cap (Tambunan) had undergone a 4-day retreat conducted by the Formation Council of the Philippines via “Google Meet” along with the other Filipino Post-Novices.
Their vows were accepted by the Custos, Br. Valentine Gompok, OFM Cap. during the Holy Eucharist. The Custos reminded the brothers in his homily that as religious they were called to be witnesses of Christ by their good examples in life, witnesses to the new creation which God the Father had set out to accomplish through the paschal mystery of His Son—Jesus Christ. The Custos also entrusted the brothers to the Blessed Virgin Mary, so that they might consecrate themselves totally and complete fidelity to God like Mary.
A fellowship followed after the Mass that evening with the concurrent celebration of the 19th Sacerdotal Ordination anniversary of the Custos, Br. Valentine Gompok, OFM Cap.
